RING OF FIRE – PLYMOUTH PLAYHOUSE 2014 AUDITION NOTICE
The Plymouth Playhouse (Troupe America Inc., Producer) announces auditions for the return of the Johnny Cash musical, RING OF FIRE. The production will open at the Playhouse July 18th, 2014 with rehearsals beginning in June. RING OF FIRE opened at Plymouth in 2013 for a sold out 18 week run and went on to an equally successful 12 week national tour. It will return for a 19 week run this July and potentially another national tour in 2015. Casino runs are also being considered in Atlantic City, New Orleans, Nashville and Las Vegas. There exists the possibility that Troupe America may need a second cast, so many roles are potentially available.
All characters must sing and deliver lines. The following are descriptions from the original Plymouth cast, but the producers are totally open to other combinations of instruments.
Man 1 – Piano/rhythm guitar/banjo possibly. Baritone age range from 35 to 45
Man 2 – Lead electric guitar/mandolin/percussion/acoustic guitar. Bass or baritone age range 25 to 35.
Man 3 – Rhythm guitar/ minimal lead electric/percussion. Age range 22 – 30.
Man 4 – Rhythm guitar/percussion/minimal electric. Age range 45 – 55
Man 5 – Upright bass player/minimum rhythm guitar and slide guitar, no age requirement.
Woman 1 – Strong fiddle player/minimal guitar, no age requirement.
Woman 2 – Minimal guitar and autoharp. Engenue age range 22 – 28
Woman 3 – Minimal guitar Age range 35 – 45
All positions are paid and on the road performers are also paid a food per diem, private room and Entertainer bus.

Auditions for the 50th edition of the Medora Musical will be held at the Plymouth Playhouse, 2705 Annapolis Lane, Plymouth, MN 55441, Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 at 6:30pm.
The Medora Musical is a summer-long outdoor western variety show celebrating Theodore Roosevelt’s time in the North Dakota Badlands as well as the other colorful characters who inhabited the historical cattle town of Medora in the 1880s. Located at the gates of the beautiful Theodore Roosevelt National Park. the production is performed in the stunning state-of –the-art 2800 seat outdoor Burning Hills Amphitheatre build on the side of a butte overlooking the Badlands. The production is listed as one of the top 100 yearly events in the Northern Hemisphere by the American Bus Association and has also been placed in the Library of Congress as a national entertainment treasure.
We will be hiring 12 Singer/Dancers in their 20’s to early 30’s, 6 Musicians, and 3 Technicians. The Technicians needed are a Master Electrician, Sound Technician and a Stage Manager who will oversee a crew of 25. Singer/Dancers should prepare two country songs, one up tempo and one ballad and be ready to sing 16 bars if asked. Also prepare a headshot and resume with references and dress to move. An accompanist will be provided as well as a CD player. Be sure your music is neat and readable and in the correct key so the accompanist does not have to transpose.
The Medora Musical begins rehearsing in Minneapolis May 9th and opens in Medora June 6th, closing September 6th, 2014. Performances are every evening at 7:30pm MDT. These are salaried positions with a rehearsal stipend. A private room with bath, three meals a day, and transportation are also provided.
